On-going Mentoring and advice

Sometimes, children and adolescents who have experienced difficulty in educational placement, those who are entering the independent sector for the first time, or individuals who have specific worries may benefit from ongoing support, mentoring, and advice. I am able to provide this face-to-face or via telephone/video call This service can be part of a crisis management or placement package or in response to a particular circumstance. The options can be discussed during an adviceline call. Mentoring usually consists of an initial meeting and then a weekly catchup call that can be arranged at a mutually convenient time. If emergencies occur and rapid help or guidance calls are required, this is included.  It is very important to me to really understand any child who is interested in having a mentor. To this end, the initial meeting needs to be informal and could be quite lengthy. I fervently believe that children will only trust and respect others by the nature of their actions rather than by the nature of their position. Therefore, talking to your son or daughter is the most important factor in deciding if mentoring is appropriate for them.
